"Feels like a good fit for my 10-year-old"
My son is 10, and codakid has been a good match for him so far. It doesn’t feel too little-kid-ish, but it’s also not so hard that he gets frustrated. He can usually get through the lessons on his own and only calls me over once in a while. I also like that it keeps him interested without making it feel like extra schoolwork. It just seems to keep him going, which I’m happy about.

"Gets tough way too fast!!!"
I was getting into it at first, but the lessons start ramping up quickly!!! It kind of feels like you barely get comfortable before things get harder!!!

"Worked okay at first, but didn’t really stick"
The lessons seemed good in the beginning, and my son was interested for the first couple of weeks. After a while though, he started losing motivation and I found myself reminding him a lot to log in. It might work better for kids who are more self-driven, but for us it just didn’t end up being the best fit.

"I had a small issue logging in..."
I had a small issue logging in and reached out to support, and they got back to me fast. They sorted it out without making it feel like a whole process, which I really appreciated. Compared to some other services I’ve used where you end up waiting forever or getting bounced around, this was way easier. Overall, really happy with the experience.

"Really nice for learning at our Own pace"
codakid has been a great fit for my son. We can just do lessons whenever it Works with our schedule, which is so helpful with school and sports going on. There’s no pressure to keep up with a class or be online at a certain time. He can pause, go back, and try things again without feeling rushed, and that has made the whole experience a lot more relaxed for him.

"My son just wrapped up a..."
My son just wrapped up a CodaKid course , and the pacing was the best part for us . It never felt like he had to rush through anything , and when he got stuck , we could slow down without feeling like we were falling behind .

The reminders to keep going were actually really helpful too . We reached out a couple of times with questions , and the answers were clear and practical , not overly complicated .

What I’m happiest about is that he actually finished the course . That doesn’t always happen with online programs in our house , so I was really glad to see him stick with it .

Booking classes was straightforward for me. If your schedule is flexible, it’s easy enough, but I do wish there were more weekend time slots since that’s usually when I’m most available.

"My kid is really enjoying the Minecraft lessons"
My kid has been loving these classes. The Roblox lessons were fun, easy to follow, and kept them totally engaged. What more can you ask for when they’re learning and having fun at the same time?

"Canceling was sorta okay, but the refund was slow"
Canceling my order was straightforward, so that part was sorta fine. The only downside was that the refund took a while to come through

The lessons were okay overall, and my son did get into them at times. But there were a few parts where he got bored and kind of checked out. It felt preventable, like if those sections were a little shorter or more interactive, it probably would’ve held his attention better.

"Honestly, this just clicked for my kid"
I grabbed this kind of on a whim, and wow, I’m glad I did. My kid stays interested because he’s actually making things, not just sitting there listening. The projects pull him in, and he ends up learning without it feeling like a chore.

"Helpful instructors, just a little wait sometimes"
My son has been using codakid for a few months now, and overall the instructor support has been solid. It’s not like we expect instant replies every single time, but when a kid is stuck, it definitely helps to have someone who can explain things clearly.

Most of the time, when he asks for help, they respond with steps that actually make sense and don’t make him feel bad for not getting it right away. That matters, because kids are obviously going to have questions when they’re learning something new.

There was one time where it took longer than we would’ve liked to hear back, which was a bit frustrating. But in general, the support has been really helpful and has made the lessons go smoother. I’d give it 4 stars because the help is good, just not always as quick as we’d hope.

"We signed our kid up and, the..."
We signed our kid up and, the lessons were fine. Nothing terrible, but for what they charge, I expected more actual guidance and feedback. A lot of it felt like, here’s a video, here’s a task, now go figure it out, which isn’t exactly what I’d call premium support from this pricey little learning setup.
My kid did pick up a few things, so I’m not saying it’s a total waste. It just didn’t feel like the value matched the cost for our family. Maybe it works better for other people, but for us, it was more of a nice idea with a big price tag

"Live tutor experience wasn’t really worth it"
My kid actually enjoyed the projects, so I’ll give them that, but the live tutor part was disappointing. The tutor always seemed rushed and didn’t really take the time to explain what went wrong when my kid hit errors. We also spent a lot of time just waiting around, which was frustrating considering the price. What annoyed me even more is how they seem to have these little policy loopholes where technically they “provided” the session, even if most of it didn’t feel useful. Overall, it just didn’t feel worth what we paid.

"Easy enough that we both figured it out"
I’d give it 4 stars. The site is simple to navigate, and my kid can usually find the lessons without me hovering over them the whole time, which feels like a small win for both of us. A few pages load a little slowly now and then, but it hasn’t been a major issue

"Good for starting out, but a bit confusing here and there"
I mean, overall it’s not bad if you’re just getting started. It gives you a decent place to begin, and I did find some parts helpful. But yeah... there were a few moments where I had to stop and figure out what was going on because it wasn’t always super clear. So, good for beginners, I guess, just not perfect

"My kid is actually sticking with coding now"
My son has tried a handful of coding sites before, and most of the time he’s over it within a week. Codakid has been a nice surprise. The projects click with him, and he can actually tell he’s getting better as he goes. It’s cool to see him stick with it, we’re really happy with it so far.

Right from the first lesson, I felt like the videos were easy to follow. The explanations were clear overall, though a few parts did feel a little rushed and I had to pause or rewind to keep up

"I wasn’t really expecting to use the..."
I wasn’t really expecting to use the parent dashboard that much, but it’s actually been handy. I can quickly see what my kid has done and where he seems to be getting stuck, without turning it into a whole back-and-forth every time.

The only reason I’d probably go with 4 stars is that a few things seem a little slow to update, though I’m not totally sure if that’s the app or something on our end. Either way, it’s been simple to use and helpful overall.

"Billing’s been straightforward"
Managing the subscription has been easy so far. I haven’t noticed any weird charges or anything like that, which is all I really wanted. I don’t think about it much, which is kind of the point, I guess
